How To Build A Pallet Wood Center Piece

With Thanksgiving behind us, Christmas is going to be here before we know it! That means it’s time to break out the Christmas decorations and let the fun begin! Now, let’s be honest, for most of us things are really busy; between decorating, planning family gatherings, cooking, and spending quality time with loved ones, this time of the year can become really hectic really quickly! So if you’re looking for a really fun and super simple DIY Christmas decor project, this one is for you! Let’s get started!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A wooden pallet
  • A circular saw
  • A hammer & nails
  • Some wood glue

Once you’ve gathered up all the supplies you’ll need, you can get down to business! Start by using a circular saw to cut two pieces of the pallet wood planks approximately 30 inches in length each.

Once you’ve finished that, you’ll need to remove top and bottom planks from the 2×4 pallet anchor and cut that 2×4 to a 30-inch length as well.

Now cut two more pieces from another 2×4 from the pallet; these will serve as your end pieces. Be sure to cut them to the appropriate height to reach the top of the box.

Then One at a time, glue the pallet planks to the sides of the bottom 2×4, anchoring them with a hammer and nails.

One at a time, glue the end 2×4 pieces and again secure them with a hammer and nails. Ensure adequate glue and nails are used during this process; you don’t want your box coming apart any time soon.

Once you’ve got this done, that’s just about all there is to it! Pretty simple huh? It’s really not a complex project but I promise you’ll be in love with the result! It’s the perfect center piece for the Holiday season, and it can be very easily repurposed to go along with festivities of the season all year long!

The only thing left to do is fill your center piece with your choice of Christmas decorations! The possibilities are almost endless; but garland, candles, and sparkling pinecones are usually a great place to start! Enjoy!
